Shut the Mouth!

So this guy Don Imus opened his mouth and made comments which at the time were to I guess be considered comical, and as we all know a whole lot of people didn't quite find it that way. These days more and more people run their mouth and they end up paying for it, just like Don Imus. So he's fired, his show pulled, off the air, silenced. Now it's not like this is the first time his mouth has gotten him in trouble, but what made this time the last straw? Could it be because he insulted members of the black community?

Now I'm not saying that Imus did nothing wrong, I'm not insulting members of the black community, I'm sorry that those comments were made about them, but this whole things just has be a little annoyed. Imus is fired for his rude comments towards an African American women's basketball team, but come on, it's not like he's the only one who has used words considered to be wrong or even racial. I've heard high school students use it, Music artists use it, Black people use it on each other, but when a White person uses it that's when things explode. Imus made rude and insulting comments but it shouldn't be (though it is) that he made them to these Black women but that he made them to innocent people, people who did not deserve to be called such names. But it's people like Rev. Al Sharpton who make things bigger than they should be. People like Sharpton do more milking than a farmer with a cow. I'm not going against Sharpton because of his race but against who he and others like him choose to go at. Oh and Imus wasn't the only one who made comments, so why is he the only one under fire?

Words that Imus used, words that people use on each other but hate when someone of another race use it on them, should not be used at all. If these words are so wrong they should be made wrong for all people. If people are going to continue to express their opinions or views, make comments about other people, well...maybe we should all just sit at home and talk in the comfort of our home. Perhaps TV should end, magazines and newspaper no longer printed, radio stations go off the air. No comments, no views, no nothing.

Don Imus, a man fired for making comments that we all can be guilty of making. Why doesn't Sharpton or others like him see this? And where do they get off making comments about Imus or other people?

Apparently there was this thing called freedom of speech, but what good is that these days (except maybe on a blog)? And see, here I am voicing my opinion, what will be thought of me?

So here's the thing America, opinions aren't always needed, so if your going to run your mouth, think and be careful or just Shut the Mouth!
